New Good Guides hit the street

I recently finished the newest edition of The Good Guide. This time in 4 areas, so we did 4 booklets. Full of pigeons, a hand drawn wallpaper and ofcourse, loads of great shops and venues you must try. See the full design job by clicking on the Good Guide post in the menu on the left hand side.

Communication Arts Typography Annual

Very, very happy to say that my work for the In Africa Christmas Card has been awarded a spot in the 2011 Communication Arts Typography Annual. Woohoo!

Congratulations, Justin!

Very proud and happy to see that last Saturday, my guy won a few BAD Awards, including his first for photography! And that for the shot he did for the Dirty Minds Wine Co. business card we worked on. Great! View Justin's folio here.

Runner Up in Create Awards

Very happy to say my work on the 'In Africa Christmas Card' was shortlisted for the 2010 Illustration & Type Award at the 2010 Qantm Desktop CREATE: Awards. It made joint first runner up. And a big congrats to The Furnace and Rudi de Wet for winning this category with their amazing interior design illustrations and type. La Petite Mort

Next time you're in a bottle shop and unsure what wine to buy, look out for 'La Petite Mort' by the Dirty Minds Wine Co. These organic wines from Stanthorpe come in several varieties and are very tasty. I designed the labels, with a photograph provided by Ray Cook. Post-Europe Blues

Well, we had the best time in our month in Europe! Visiting my home country, the Netherlands, and also Norway, Berlin and Barcelona. Holidays just never last long enough now do they? Here's a tiny impression of our trip.

The Good Guide

At last, Brisbane gets its own street guide, or ‘the Good Guide’ I should say. This is a job I did for the awesome crew at the Film Garden. The design revolves around the concept of a pidgeon (who knows our city streets better?) and really glorified this little street bird. Complete with a gold foil on the cover and a royal wallpaper for the inside. Check out more pics by clicking on the menu on the left hand side.

Elm Interior Design

I have just received the shiny new cards we printed for Elm! This was a job that I did for the wonderful guys at the Hoopla Family. They asked me to come up with a logo and business card design for a client of theirs who is an interior designer. Full job posted under 'elm interior design' in the menu on the left.

Fashion Illustration

The lovely people at Jolt Design Studio asked me if I could do a nice little fashion illustration, to promote the 'Fashion at your Fingertips' Workshops at Brookside Shopping Centre. Painting trees

Just been working on a lovely but also very tedious job for the Hoopla Family... I was asked to paint a map for their client Spicers Hidden Vale. Now I am always happy to get my pens and brushes out and this time was no exception. I fully enjoyed doing this one, but after 4 long days of looking at trees I was also very happy to finish this one!

Design and Design

Very happy to find out that the design I did for the Corporate Clothing Company has once more been selected to be published, this time by the wonderful Design and Design jury.
